With over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry, Sam has dedicated his career to helping people improve their confidence, fitness, and personal development through sport and training. An elite-level swimmer and highly respected martial artist, Sam brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and determination to everything he does.
As Head Coach of Lakes BJJ, Sam has played a pivotal role in developing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu across Cumbria and beyond. He became Cumbria’s first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and Europe’s first disabled BJJ Black Belt, demonstrating an extraordinary level of dedication, perseverance, and technical excellence. His achievements have inspired countless students and proven that determination and hard work can overcome even the greatest challenges.
Known for his patient coaching style and deep technical knowledge, Sam is passionate about helping students of all abilities develop practical self-defence skills, improve their fitness, and grow in confidence both on and off the mats. Through his leadership, Lakes BJJ has built a strong and welcoming community where everyone is encouraged to learn, progress, and achieve their full potential.
